EVie remains available during Storm Goretti to support essential travel, urging users to put safety first

EVie has confirmed that its service will remain available during Storm Goretti to support essential journeys across Jersey and Guernsey, while urging users to follow official safety advice and only travel if necessary.

With local authorities warning of strong winds and advising residents to stay at home during the storm’s peak, EVie is encouraging customers to carefully consider whether travel is essential and to prioritise safety at all times.

Nick Perchard-Rees, CEO of EVie, said:
“EVie is part of everyday life for many people — whether that’s essential work, care responsibilities, or getting home safely when options are limited. That’s why we believe it’s right to keep the service available.
At the same time, safety must come first. Reducing unnecessary journeys helps protect our users, other road users, and our fleet support team who are operating in difficult conditions.”

EVie will continue to monitor conditions closely and will share any service updates through the EVie app and social media channels.

Customers are reminded to follow all official guidance, avoid exposed and coastal areas, and only travel if it is genuinely necessary.
